HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE


2007-2008 Committee Goals

This Committee is charged with the consideration of policies and programs impacting upon the staff development and training of Public Rehabilitation personnel.

Goal #1
Provide guidance and interpretation to State VR Agencies on CSPD, in consultation with the RSA.

Related Activity: Committee chairs will continue to communicate on systemic CSPD issues with RSA leadership on behalf of the CSAVR member agencies and will provide guidance and interpretation to the CSAVR membership as a whole when appropriate.

Goal #2
Provide State VR Agency perspectives to RSA on the future direction of training funds.

Related Activity: Committee chairs will continue to communicate with RSA on the priorities for training funds and will encourage member agencies to communicate on this goal as appropriate.

Goal #3
Collect and disseminate information on the establishment of CSPD state standards among VR programs.

Related Activity: Via Rehabnet, Committee Chairs will survey state programs to ascertain which programs are currently using a state standard as a CSPD standard. Information collected on state standards will be shared with interested VR agencies.

Goal #4
As needed, recommend to the CSAVR Executive Committee regulatory changes to the RSA payback provisions in the reauthorization of the Rehabilitation Act.

Related Activity: Review previously collected payback recommendations with VR agencies and determine if RSA payback is still an issue of concern to member agencies. If RSA payback is an issue of import, make recommendations to the CSAVR Executive Committee for regulatory changes to be considered during reauthorization.


Goal #5
Work with RSA and NCRE to strengthen the “state agency service and practice” training track at the annual NCRE/CSAVR/RSA National Rehabilitation Education Conference.

Related Activity: Committee chairs will serve on the annual conference planning committee. The Chairs will encourage CSAVR member agencies to submit presentation proposals, and support HRD staff who wish to attend the conference.
