2007 – 2008 Committee Goals
This Committee is charged with the consideration of policies and related matters affecting the delivery of public vocational rehabilitation services to individuals with disabilities transitioning from high school to careers and post-secondary education. In addition, the committee is charged with examining and disseminating information to the Executive Committee regarding emerging practices in the field of transition services.
Goal #1
Identify and disseminate information to the Council membership regarding innovative and emerging practices supporting school to career transition services for persons with disabilities.
Goal #2
Maintain linkages and ongoing dialogue with the National Association of State Directors of Special Education (NASDSE).
Goal #3
Encourage and support the implementation of state conferences for School to Careers Transition Services.
Goal #4
Examine and advise the Council regarding the regulatory and fiscal implications of expanded transition services and responsibilities under reauthorization of the Rehabilitation Act and other federal legislation including IDEA.
